LANGLEY, Va. – Doug Coby returned to the seat of the No. 7NY for Tommy Baldwin Racing on Saturday night at Langley Speedway, and rolled it right back into Victory Lane. Coby was fastest in practice, won the Mayhew Tools pole award, and led all 150 laps en route to a dominating victory in what was a dominating day for the entire team in Virginia. In the CheckeredFlag.com 150, Coby had the car to beat. “It means a lot to win here,” Coby said. “Anytime you come to a newer track for all the teams, it’s always nice to get a win. This is all about Tommy, his team and the effort they put in this past week to get the car here. What a rocket ship it has been all season. It’s been a long time since I’ve been the fastest in practice, won the pole and led all the laps.” The victory was the 34th in Coby’s Whelen Modified Tour career, giving him sole possession of fifth on the all-time wins list. Doug Coby will return to the track on Saturday, September 3, competing in the 150-lap NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race as part of Classic weekend at Oswego Speedway in New York.
