OSWEGO, N.Y. – It ended up being a night filled with the number seven Saturday night for Doug Coby at Oswego Speedway. Coby wheeled the No. 7NY for Tommy Baldwin Racing to a seventh-place finish after 150 laps in the Toyota Budweiser Modified Classic. Racing as part of the historic Classic weekend at Oswego, it looked like Coby was in shape to score a fourth victory of the season in a part-time effort. However, a late caution on lap 121 shook the race up – as six-time Whelen Modified Tour champion Coby and a few others elected to pit. Coby restarted ninth and was able to charge his way back up to seventh before the checkered flag went in the air. Overall, it was another strong points effort for the Tommy Baldwin Racing team, as they lead the owners championship standings on the Tour with three races remaining. Doug Coby will return to the track in NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour competition at Riverhead Raceway on Saturday, September 17. The race will be in honor of Ed Partridge, longtime track owner who passed away last season, and is set for 256 laps, with infield pitting and a tire change for teams.
