Coby Ready To Chase Fourth Open Wheel Wednesday Win at Seekonk
Returning To The Track With No. 10 Team For Mid-Week Special Event Race Advance by Souza Media MILFORD, Conn. – In the history of Seekonk Speedway’s Open Wheel Wednesday, only two drivers are multiple-time winners, and Doug Coby is one of them. The Milford, Connecticut Modified veteran has three career victories in the $10,000 to win prestigious race, only trailing Matt Hirschman, who has five. This Wednesday night, June 28, Coby has the chance to make it four. He will unload the Mayhew Tools No. 10 at the Action Track of the East chasing the big check with the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series. Coby has laps on the new Seekonk pavement with the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, where he drove the Tommy Baldwin Racing No. 7NY to a podium finish. He will look to use that to his advantage as he returns to the track with the John McKenna prepared No. 10. “It will definitely be a different race compared to the Whelen Modified Tour race with the strategy and only green flag laps counting,” Coby said. “With the option to pit, it changes the game. The Mayhew Tools No. 10 team will be ready for a mid-week show at Seekonk.” Fans can purchase tickets online in advance of the race at Seekonk by visiting SeekonkSpeedway.com. The track is also offering a Pay-Per-View broadcast of the race and more information on that broadcast can also be found on the track website. Practice will roll from 3:15-4 p.m., followed by qualifying heats at 6:30 p.m. and the green flag just after 8 p.m. For more information on Doug Coby, visit DougCobyRacing.com and follow his page on Facebook for the latest news and updates, including from the track on both race days.
